AspiraCon chosen as one of world’s “Most Promising Companies” by Microsoft

Co. Cork, Ireland — 28 May. 2009 — For the first time, an Irish company has been chosen as one of world’s “Most Promising Companies" by the Microsoft Emerging Business team. That company is AspiraCon, based in Cork, Ireland, who develop enterprise software and have adopted the mission to take the chaos out of project management.

As part of their drive to encourage and promote new Software Development businesses, Microsoft have created the “Startup zone” highlighting useful initiatives and opportunities for companies that have been in existence for less than three years. On a regular basis, the Microsoft Emerging Business team use this zone to showcase a Startup software company that they select as one of the most promising companies globally.

For the first time, an Irish company has been chosen by Microsoft as the recipient of this prestigious honour. That company is AspiraCon, based in Cork, Ireland, who develop enterprise software and have adopted the mission to take the chaos out of project management. “All the team at AspiraCon are really excited about this honour” said Colum Horgan, Director of Operations at AspiraCon, “ when you’ve been working for a while building a company and a product, it’s great to get independent validation of your efforts. To get this recognition from Microsoft identifying AspiraCon as one of the most promising companies globally is a real thrill.”

Diarmuid Linehan, Senior Development Engineer with AspiraCon says “it is always nice to get positive feedback for your work, and you can’t get a more credible source of reference than Microsoft. While they dwarf us in terms of size, it is great to see they are keeping their ear to the ground to see what companies like AspiraCon are up to and what great new products are being developed. We use a lot of Microsoft technology in developing our software and have been able to get new products from concept to delivery in a very short timescale.”

George Morrison, Business Development Manager with Microsoft, says “I hope that AspiraCon can leverage this visibility to tout their product to the world, and let other entrepreneurs like the AspiraCon team better understand how to leverage off Microsoft’s Bizspark program and the Microsoft platform. ”
